Staind is a north American alternative rock band that was formed in 1995 in Springfield, Massachusettes. Up to now, Staind has recorded seven studio albums: Tormented, Dysfunction , Break the Cycle , 14 shades of grey ,chapter V , The Illusion of Progress and their self-titled album that just came out in 2011. Influences that I found interesting are Korn, Rage against the Machine, Pantera, and Machine Head. It's Been Awhile, my all time favorite song by them was number one on Billboard's Top 200 in the 90`s , a suprising achievement for a rock band when everyone was in a rap and hip hop phase. This song means a lot to me because he sings about his addiction, real problems that happen to everyone, not pathetic lyrics about sex money and drugs. In the song, he mentions how he overcame his problems because of a girl, how love can conquer all. A beautiful song to me, and always will be. :)Wednesday, January 11, 2012

I lovelovelove this song. I remember hearing it all the time on the radio and I agree it is an awesome songs and beats any annoying, meaningless rap song that talks about sex, drugs and money. awesome blog !
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see that you pay attention to the lyrics of songs and there meanings! I have never heard of this band but it sounds very unique and people need to give other bands a chance even if they're not rap or hip hop. I look forward to reading your other blogs :)
